Writing Standard 2.a - Level 5
Write in a variety of modes such as narrative, expository or descriptive for various audiences and purposes (for example: to entertain, to inform).

Students must be able to come up with and develop ideas for a variety of reasons.

Students will use their knowledge of the various modes and characteristics to produce writing that addresses the prompt, purposes, and audiences of that genre including:

- Striking vocabulary
- Varied sentence structure
- A conclusion that relates to the main idea
