Write sentences that begin differently and are varied in length.
Standard Unwrapped
- KNOW what a compound sentence is and how to create one using a comma and a semicolon.
- KNOW that the acronym FANBOYS stands for the conjunctions for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.
- KNOW that two complete sentences can be joined by using a comma and one of the FANBOYS OR a semicolon by itself OR with a conjunctive adverb or transitional phrase.
- KNOW what a complex sentence is and how to create one using the three different patterns.

- Given a base sentence, students will create all of the above forms correctly.
- Use rubric to evaluate whether writing reflects varied sentence structures and lengths
