Unit 1 grammar: Sentences
Unit 1 writing: Expressive writing
Time frame: 8 weeks
Skills
Students will:
> generate topics for a variety of writing purposes using a variety of graphic organizers. (2.a, 2.d, & 2.g)
> plan, organize, develop ideas, and write a descriptive piece containing a beginning, middle, and end. (2.a, 2.b, 2.d, & 2.g)
> use descriptive, content vocabulary. (2.c)
> vary sentence beginnings and lengths. (2.f)
> write complete sentences using capitalization and end punctuation correctly.(3.c, 3.d, & 3.d.2)
