I can name the parts of the computer and use them properly.

I can name the monitor, keyboard, mouse, power button, printer, and CD drive. I know the following technology terms: e-mail, cursor, laptop, internet address, URL, virus, password, instant messaging, internet, web site, monitor, cyberspace, username


ABLE TO DO

I handle CD’s with care.

I ask for help when a CD won’t go in, or eject.

I type gently on the keyboard.


Instructional Strategies

Label a computer using sticky notes to demonstrate for the students the parts of the computer.

Demonstrate how to load and eject a cd from the computer.


Assessment Strategies

Students will label computer parts on a worksheet.

Students will also complete a self checklist to show that they are responsible for learning these terms and responsible use of the computer.

Students will practice labeling the computer parts with a partner.


Students will practice loading and ejecting a cd from the computer.
