Technology Essential Skills for Level 5

Typing

  • Students will type ten words per minute at 85% accuracy.
  • Demonstrate correct keystroke and posture.

Internet Safety

  • Know at least three safe places for kids on the internet.
  • Know some types of inappropriate places for kids to be on the internet.

Internet Research

  • Navigate on a website (back, forward, and refresh).

Word Processing (Microsoft Word)

  • Type a paragraph using indent.
  • Set up work space (toolbars, palette, zoom scale).

Spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel)

  • Chart wizard
  • Label x and y access
  • Tab between cells

Digital Presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint)

  • Identify three ways to use PowerPoint.
  • Four slide PowerPoint presentation using timings.

Computer Operations

  • Understand file extensions (.doc, .xls, .ppt).

Troubleshooting

  • Use power button.
