Technology Essential Skills for Level 3
Typing
- Can place hands in home row and be able to type their whole name accurately with correct keystroke.
Internet Safety
Three basic internet safety rules:
- 1)do not give out your personal information (address, phone number, full name, etc.),
- 2) never agree to meet someone online,
- 3) and do not give out your password.
Internet Research
- Terminology-bookmark, browser, and URL window
Word Processing (Microsoft Word)
- Insert clip art
- Drawing tools
- Cursor and insertion point
Spreadsheet (Microsoft Excel)
- Terminology-spreadsheet
Digital Presentations (Microsoft PowerPoint)
- Exposed through demonstration
Computer Operations
- Basic Hardware parts (monitor, cd drive, mouse, speakers, desktop, icons, menu bar, dock)
- Saving a document locally
Troubleshooting
- Asking the teacher for assistance
- Password not working (check spelling and caps lock key)
