First Semester:

- Understand how westward expansion affects the United States today.
- Know the main events, people, and places of the Gilded Age.
- Understand basic principles of the progressive movement.
- Understand the implications of World War One and how it affects the US for decades to come.
- Know the places, people and events of the 1920’s.
Second Semester:
Students will be able to:
- Understand the cause and effect relationships in History.
- Understand the basic chronology of events in American History.
- Know the people, places and events of the Depression Era.
- Understand how World War II affects the United States today.
- Know the main events, people, and places of the 1950’s
- Understand basic principles of the Civil Rights Movement.
- Understand the implications of the Vietnam War and how it still affects the United States today.
- Know the places, people and events of the 1970’s.
