  • Know the differences to be able to explain the following events and beliefs:
    • Puritan Work Ethic, "A City Upon a Hill"
    • Pilgrims/Separatists coming to America for religious freedom
    • Anglican and Catholic control and why colonists wanted to search for a better life in America.
    • The Salem Witch Trials and how they evolved and what the U.S. took from them (Innocent until proven guilty)
    • Quaker beliefs and the Abolitionists during the pre-Civil War times.
