Skills
1- Students will independently perform grooming skills with limited verbal cuing and modeling at a routine time each day.
2- Students will demonstrate recognition and understanding of five food groups in relation to nutrition. Students will use this knowledge to plan daily snacks and build shopping lists to prepare snacks. Students will go to grocery store to locate and purchase items with one-on-one assistance.
3- Students will demonstrate critical thinking/problem solving during hypothetical discussions and authentic activities such as: giving verbal directions to familiar places (ie: grocery store and hospital), handling interpersonal issues such as getting along with peers, meal planning, working at a job training location.
4- Students will recognize by appearance and value the following coins: penny, nickel, dime, and quarter.
5- Students will associate written schedule with daily routine for classes.
6- Students will attend one class a week of water therapy led by occupational therapist to increase mobility, balance, and endurance. Additional skills will include: listening skills, sequencing, communications, independent dressing, and hygiene.
7- Students will continue to develop necessary skills to perform required job skills for assigned job training. Additional skills will include: communication, listening, problem solving, and critical thinking.

2- Students will build upon prior knowledge of food groups to determine nutritional values and begin adding color and texture differences to their meal planning.
3- Students will perform basic housekeeping skills within the classroom such as: vacuuming, dusting, cleaning appliances, cleaning our refrigerator, watering plants, washing laundry.
4- Students will use prior knowledge to discuss how to navigate a new setting, make purchases at stores, order from a menu at a restaurant, and pay for a meal. After discussing these skills students will participate in an authentic activity to demonstrate understanding.
5- Students will identify and know the value of the following dollar bills: ones, fives, and tens.
6- Students will read the daily schedule and lunch menu being able to independently identify the course taking place each hour and their individual electives.
7- Students will continue to develop mobility, balance, listening and communicating skills through water therapy.
8- Students will continue to increase skills related to assigned job training.

2- Students will continue to prepare daily snacks based on nutrition incorporating appropriate serving sizes. Students will begin shopping one at a time for a weeks worth of meals.
3- Students will independently perform housekeeping duties with support as necessary.
4- Students will independently use problem solving and critical thinking to perform various tasks within the classroom and during authentic activities such as grocery shopping and field trips.
5- Students will begin making change for coins and one dollar bills.
6- Students will read daily schedule and lunch menu noting missing items in daily routine.
7- Students will continue to increase mobility, balance, listening and communicating skills during water therapy.
8- Students will continue job training skills while improving communication and sequencing skills by verbally reporting daily to the teacher as to their success for that days work.
