Use organizational features of electronic information (for example, keyword searches and email addresses) and library and interlibrary catalog databases to locate relevant information.
Standard in Kid Friendly Language
Use keyword searches, links, boolean searches to find information that is needed when using Internet search engines and library card catalogs.

KNOW The students will know how to put together a search strategy when looking for electronic information.
ABLE TO DO The students will be able to find a topic using keyword searches on both the Internet and library card catalogs.
Instructional Strategies
Students will be given research assignment based on text selected by the primary Language Arts instructor. Examples could include but are not limited to Night,The Outsiders, or Romeo and Juliet. Students construct search strategies modeled on example sheet. Teacher modeling use of card catalog. Teacher modeling of Internet search.
