Use context clues to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words.

You will be able to find out the meaning of unfamiliar words by reading the sentences and the words around it.

ABLE TO DO Students will be able to make logical guesses about the meaning of many words.
Instructional Strategies
I show the context clue definition sign on the overhead projector. See "Resources" "Context Clue Definition." Then I also show and discuss The Five Types of Context Clues ("Resources"). Then I show some examples from the online resources listed and examples from short stories read in the classroom.
