Physical Education Essential Skills for Level 7-8

First Quarter

Students will have exposure:

  • To the application of rules and strategies in a variety of sports/games. Physical Education Standard 1
  • To competency in a rhythmic activity. Physical Education Standard 1
  • To offensive and defensive strategies in net games. Physical Education Standard 1
  • To sustaining and maintaining a target heart rate for 20 minutes through a variety of aerobic activities to achieve cardiovascular fitness. Physical Education Standard 2
  • To demonstrating correct technique for increasing and maintaining flexibility. Physical Education Standard 2
  • To demonstrating correct technique and safety factors for increasing muscular strength and endurance. Physical Education Standard 2
  • To the knowledge and implications of body composition. Physical Education Standard 3
  • To the knowledge of the roles of team members and officials in sports. Physical Education Standard 3
  • To detecting, analyzing, and correcting errors in personal movement patterns. Physical Education Standard 3

First quarter BMS Physical Education activities include: low organized games, rope skipping, flag football, soccer, fitness testing, and volleyball.


Second Quarter

Same skills as quarter one.

Second quarter BMS Physical Education activities include: low organized games, dance, soccer/speed-ball, pickle-ball, fitness testing, and basketball.


Third Quarter

Same skills as quarter one.

Third quarter BMS Physical Education activities include: low organized games, dance, badminton, weight training, fitness testing and bowling.


Fourth Quarter

Same skills as quarter one.

Fourth quarter BMS Physical Education activities include: low organized games, rope skipping, volleyball, fitness testing, and softball.
