Math Essential Skills for Level K

First Quarter:

Student will be able to:

  • Count forward by 1’s to a minimum of 12 Math Standard 1.3
  • Recognize a minimum of 6 numbers (0-31) Math Standard 1.2
  • Rational counting to a minimum of 20 (using manipulatives) Math Standard 1.3
  • Identify Shapes: circle, square, triangle, rectangle and oval Math Standard 4.1

Second Quarter:

Student will be able to:

  • Count forward by 1’s to a minimum of 40 Math Standard 1.3
  • Recognize a minimum of 11 numbers (0-31) Math Standard 1.3
  • Put numbers in correct sequence 0-10 Math Standard 1.3
  • Count backward from 10 to 0 Math Standard 1.3

Third Quarter:

Student will be able to:

  • Count forward by 1’s to a minimum of 75 Math Standard 1,3
  • Recognize a minimum of 20 numbers (0-31) Math Standard 1,3
  • Demonstrates counting by 10’s to 100 Math Standard 1,3
  • Reproduce, extend, create and describe an AB and ABB pattern Math Standard 2,3
  • Identify math vocabulary words: front, first, last, above, behind, below, and near Math Standard 4

Fourth Quarter:

Student will be able to:

  • Count forward by 1’s to a minimum of 100 Math Standard 1,3
  • Recognize a minimum of 20 numbers (0-20) Math Standard 1,3
  • Put numbers in correct sequence 0-10 Math Standard 1,3
  • Reproduce, extend, create and describe an AB and ABB pattern Math Standard 2,3
  • Recognize a penny, nickel, dime, quarter and name it’s value Math Standard 1
  • Tell time to the nearest hour Math Standard 5
  • Sort and graph pattern blocks. Using graph identify most, fewest, and same Math Standard 3
  • Identify Shapes: circle, square, triangle, rectangle and oval Math Standard 4.1
