Standard Unwrapped

KNOW Students will know the name of a circle, square, triangle, rectangle and oval.

ABLE TO DO Students are able to point to circles, squares, triangles, rectangles and ovals upon request. They will be able to verbally tell you the name of each of these shapes when shown them.

Instructional Strategies

COOPERATIVE LEARNING-Explain to students that they will be working in small groups. Teacher will divide the class into small groups. Each member of the group will participate in the activity. The groups should be small (2-4 students/group).

WHOLE GROUP INSTRUCTION-Teaching will give direct instruction to the entire class.

MODELING-Teacher will model various math activites.

HOMEWORK AND PRACTICE-Throughout the year teacher will send home math activities to practice at home with family.
