First Quarter:

Students will be able to:

  • Use place value to read and write numbers to 1,000,000 and hundredths. Standard 1.2a (1.2)
  • Identify and describe factors, multiples and prime/composite numbers
  • Order and compare whole numbers to millions with decimals to hundredths
  • Identify numbers in standard, expanded, and written form. Standard 1.2a (1.2)
  • Round to 1,000,000 and hundredths place. Standard 1.6 (1.5)
  • Multiply 3-digits times 2-digits. Standard 6.2b (6.4)

Second Quarter:

Students will be able to:

  • Divide 3-digit divided by 2-digit. Standard 6.2b (6.4)
  • Add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators without regrouping or borrowing, and decimals to hundreths. Standard 6.2d (6.4)
  • Reduce fractions.
  • Find equivalent fractions.
  • Convert basic fractions to % and decimals. Standard 1.1b (1.1)
  • Identify, locate, place, and order fractions and decimals on a number line
  • Construct, read, interpret, and solve problems with whole numbers using number properties, charts, tables, and graphs. Standard 2.5a (2.7)
    • Pie graphs
    • Line graphs
    • Bar graphs
    • Coordinate planes (locating points)
    • X and Y coordinates in quadrant 1 of a coordinate plane
    • Pictographs
    • Stem and Leaf Plots

Third Quarter:

Students will be able to:

  • Identify/recognize/draw various geometric shapes and describe shapes by attributes.
    • Recognize/draw complex figures around lines of symmetry. Standard 4.6b (4.1)
    • Identify various types of angles. Standard 5.1e (5.1)
    • Determine the lines of symmetry in regular/irregular forms. Standard 4.6b (4.1)
    • Identify parallel and perpendicular lines. Standard 4.2a (4.6)
    • Recognize results of flipping, sliding, or turning figures. Standard 4.6a (4.1)
    • Estimate the measurement of angles. Standard 5.1d (5.1)
  • Use measurement to:
    • Calculate linear, perimeter, area, volume, and circumference. Standard 5.4a (5.7)
    • Select and use appropriate standard units of measurement to solve problems. Standard 5.6a (5.5)
  • Use Predictions, Probability, and Statistics
    • Make predictions based on given data and chance devices. Standard 3.6a & b (3.3)
    • Calculate mean values, draw conclusions based on data. Standard 3.1c & 3.2a (3.1 & 3.2)
  • Use Algebra
    • Substitute numbers for variables to solve equations. Standard 2.1b (2.2)

Fourth Quarter:

  • Multiplying and dividing fractions. Standard 6.2 (6.4)
  • Business math
