Math Essential Skills for Level 2

First Quarter:

Students will be able to:

  • Count by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s from any number. Math Standard 1(1.3a)
  • Find five equivalent names for a given number. Math Standard 1(1.2c)
  • Construct fact families for addition and subtraction. Math Standard 6(6.3)
  • Solve addition facts with a sum greater than 10. Math Standard 6(6.3b)

Second Quarter:

Students will be able to:

  • Identify place value in three digit numbers. Math Standard 1(1.2)
  • Count coins with money amounts totaling 75 cents. Math Standard 1 or 6(1.1)
  • Read degrees Fahrenheit and degrees Celsius on a thermometer. Math Standard 5(5.4)
  • Add and subtract with multiples of ten. Math Standard 6

Third Quarter:

Students will be able to:

  • Measure to the nearest inch and centimeter. Math Standard 5(5.3)
  • Add three one-digit numbers. Math Standard 6(6.4)
  • Create and interpret data from a bar graph. Math Standard 3(3.1)
  • Tell time to the nearest 5 minutes. Math Standard 5(5.1)

Fourth Quarter:

Students will be able to:

  • Give fraction name for the shaded/unshaded parts. Math Standard 1(1.1)
  • Compute two-digit addition and subtraction numbers with or without regrouping. Math Standard 6(6.1)
  • Identify place value to 1,000. Math Standard 1(1.2)
  • Students will add and subtract to 18 without manipulatives. Math Standard 6
