Math Essential Skills for Level 1
First Quarter:
Students will be able to:
- Recognize and write numbers to 25. Standard 1.3
- Number before and after a given number. Standard 1.3
- Telling time to the hour. Standard 5.1
Second Quarter:
Students will be able to:
- Count by 5’s & 10’s to a 100. Standard 1.3
- Solve addition problems using a number grid. Standard 6.3
- Solve subtraction problems using a number grid. Standard 6.3
- Identify dimes, nickels & pennies. Standard 1.1
- Tell time to the nearest 1/2 hour. Standard 5.1
- Measure to nearest inch. Standard 5.3
- Extend a number pattern (14, 16, 18, _, _). Standard 2.1
Third Quarter:
Students will be able to:
- Counts and writes numbers to 200. Standard 1.2, 1.3
- Understand concepts of 10's and 1's
- Easy facts (+0,+1,+2,+3) Standard 6.3
- Compare numbers, less, greater than and equal. Standard 1.1, 3.2
- Measure to nearest centimeter. Standard 5.3
- Identify shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, and oval). Standard 4.1
- Count by 2's to 100. Standard 1.3
Fourth Quarter:
Students will be able to:
- Subtract fact to 18 using manipulatives. Standard 6.3
- Addition facts to 18. Standard 6.3
- Identify and count quarters, dimes, nickels & pennies. Standard 1.1
- Give fraction name for shaded & unshaded part (1/2, 1/3, 1/4). Standard 1.1
- Solve addition and subtraction number stories. Standard 6.5
- Understand concepts of 100's, 10's and 1's
