Advanced Math Essential Skills for Level 11
First Quarter:
Student will be able to:
- Use ratios and proportion in similar triangles. Standard 6.1a (6.6)
- Solve different types of linear equations and systems of linear equations. Standard 2.3a (2.7)
- Logic using syllogism. Standard 4
- Outline and write paragraph proofs. Standard 4
- Define and use functions. Functional operations including the composition of functions. Standard 2.2a (2.2)
Second Quarter:
Student will be able to:
- Use the logarithmic form of exponentials. Standard 2.1a (2.3)
- Use symmetry, reflections, and translations of parent graphs. Standard 4.1b (4.1)
- Properties of quadrilaterals. Standard 4.2b (4.3)
- Develop an understanding of trigonometric functions. Standard 4.4 (4.7)
- Work simple summation problems.
Third Quarter:
Student will be able to:
- Use the fundamental counting principle, permutations, and combinations to solve problems. Standard 3.6a (3.4)
- Use radian measure in Trigonometric functions. Standard 4.4a (4.7)
- Work with linear and angular velocity. Standard 6.1a (6.6)
Fourth Quarter:
Student will be able to:
- Define and graph conic sections. Standard 4.1d (4.1)
- Prove trigonometric identities. Standard 4.4a (4.7)
- Use the law of sines and cosines. Standard 4.4a (4.7)
- Analyze statistical data including percentiles and z scores of the Bell curve. Standard 3.4d (3.2)
- Calculate areas of regular polygons. Standard 4.2b (4.3)
