Math Essential Skills for Applied Math
First Quarter:
Student will be able to:

- Students define and use ratios, proportions and percents to solve life applicable problems Standard 6.1a
- Students measure and convert between SAE and Metric units. Standard 6.1b
Second Quarter:
Student will be able to:
- Students use data to solve life applicable problems. Standards 3.3d. 3.4d. 3.3a, 3.3c
- They display data in a stem-and-leaf plot and construct box-and-whisker graphs. Standard 3.4a
- Students work with lines and angles and construct simple geometric figures. Standard 4.3
Third Quarter:
Student will be able to:
- Students solve life applicable perimeter, area and volume problems. Standard 4.2c
- Students compute loan payments and debt to income ratios. Standard 6.1a
Fourth Quarter:
Student will be able to:
- Students use the Pythagorean theorem and Trigonometry ratios to solve life applicable problems. Standards 4.2a, 4.4a
