Physical Education Essential Skills for Level 9-12

First Quarter

Students will be able to:

  • Acknowledge good play from an opponent.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the achievement of a team.
  • Participate regularly in physical activities that contribute to the attainment of and maintenance of physical activity goals.
  • Resolve a conflict without the intervention of instructor without the use of violence.
  • Play a game of volleyball, soccer, and flag football using some of the basic skills and strategies of the game.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of rules, strategies, and appropriate behaviors for selected activities.


Second Quarter

Students will be able to:

  • Acknowledge good play from an opponent.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the achievement of a team.
  • Participate regularly in physical activities that contribute to the attainment of and maintenance of physical activity goals.
  • Resolve a conflict without the intervention of instructor without the use of violence.
  • Play a game of soccer and basketball using some of the basic skills and strategies of the game.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of rules, strategies, and appropriate behaviors for selected activities.
  • Demonstrate gains on cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility.


Third Quarter

Students will be able to:

  • Acknowledge good play from an opponent.
  • Contribute meaningfully to the achievement of a team.
  • Participate regularly in physical activities that contribute to the attainment of and maintenance of physical activity goals.
  • Know how to score a bowling game.
  • Resolve a conflict without the intervention of instructor without the use of violence.
  • Play a game of hockey and badminton using some of the basic skills and strategies of the game.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of rules, strategies, and appropriate behaviors for selected activities.


Fourth Quarter

Students will be able to:

  • Acknowledge good play from an opponent
  • Contribute meaningfully to the achievement of a team
  • Participate regularly in physical activities that contribute to the attainment of and maintenance of physical activity goals.
  • Resolve a conflict without the intervention of instructor without the use of violence
  • Play a game of lacrosse and softball using some of the basic skills and strategies of the game
  • Demonstrate knowledge of rules, strategies, and appropriate behaviors for selected activities
  • Demonstrate gains on cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility
  • Write a research paper in correct format on health related topic (determined by department).
