  • Learn to read the back of the pattern envelope.

- Take body measurements

- Select suitable fabric for pattern choice.

- Select the proper notions for pattern, thread, needles, buttons, fasteners, elastics and interfacing


  • Know the parts of the sewing machine and their function. Parts test.

- Know how to thread the sewing machine.

- Know proper use of this machine

- Understand the pattern, adjustment, laying out of the pattern, cutting and marking the pattern.


  • Practice stitching on machine, construct 1/4, 1/2, and 5/8 seam.

- Construct a machine quilted pillow.


  • All sewing supplies will be purchased at the same time.

- Only fabrics without a nap or plaids will be used. Only cotton blend fabrics will be used to construct pants or shorts. Top may be constructed with cotton stretch knits.


  • Demonstration of sewing skills according to guide sheet.

- Project will be displayed in show chase when completed.
