Sculpture Essential Skills for HS Level

First Semester:

Student will be able to:

1. Communicate- Students experiment with simple symbolic imagery.

2. Structure- Students demonstrate a basic understanding of the expressive range of the elements and principles as they apply to sculpture.

3. Process- Students demonstrate an understanding of the techniques for creating a ceramic sculpture.

4. Analyze- Students analyze a work of sculpture to understand the basic volumes, and composition.

5. Synthesis- Students create a sculpture combining the style and content of two sculptors work.

6. Context- Students research and report on the historical/social context of a major work.

7. Integrate- Students create a sculpture inspired by a major theory in a core discipline.
