Art 1 Essential Skills for HS Level

Student will be able to:

1. Communicate- Students experiment with simple symbolic imagery

2. Structure- Students demonstrate a basic understanding of the expressive range of the elements and principles of design.

3. Process- Students develop foundational skill with pencil, ink and collage techniques.

4. Analyze- Students learn to critique artwork using the elements and principles.

5. Synthesize- Students learn to combine skills learned from several different projects.

6. Context- Students research and explain the social/historical context of a major work of art.
